Mini in the Mountains part 2

The picture above is from Copper Mountain. During the summer you can take one of the chair lifts up the mountain for free. It was a beautiful day.
We got completely covered with a lightning and rain storm at the trailer near Buena Vista. Scott played with his camera so that he could take this shot.
We stopped at Maroon Bells since neither of us have ever been there. It was raining and cloudy, so we couldn't even see the mountains... but the lake was pretty.
A group of 9 Minis went up Independence Pass together. Most of them continued, but 3 of us had lunch in Aspen and then visited the Maroon Bells.
On the way back, we stopped at Mt. Evans... another place neither of us have ever been to. It was cloudy too... but the clouds were moving so fast that we would get good views every few minutes.
Oh... by the way... Kaitlynn stayed at Grandma and Poppa's house (Scott's parents) for the weekend. We didn't think that she would enjoy just driving around a lot. Plus she gets spoiled at Grandma's house! We had lots of fun, but I missed her bunches!

Mini in the Mountains

Last weekend we went to Copper Mountain for the first annual Mini in the Mountains. Scott and I went up and stayed at my parents' trailer near Buena Vista and drove and visited with other Mini owners from all over the country. There were 180+ signed up to go, but the most cars we saw at one time was about 100 or so. The above picture is most of the Minis parked on Burning Stones Plaza at Copper Mountain (right by the chair lift) - we are not in the picture as they started earlier than the itinerary said... and they were done before we got there. (we were a little miffed).
On Friday evening, we all drove up to Clinton Reservoir (just south of Copper Mtn) and took a photo. Lots of Minis.


Scott was very proud of his Mini Cooper S. He was the only one with a unique window tint. All the minis are different, and the owners were really cool! We met a family from Kansas City and a couple from Tuscon that we spent most of our time with. We are looking foward to more Mini get-togethers!

Elitch's

In July, we went to Six Flags Elitch Gardens courtesy of Scott's work. Kaitlynn has been a couple of times before with her day care. She is a dare devil. She didn't get scared at all. She even rode the little roller coaster and wasn't scared, but it jolted her head too much and she wanted off. Scott was freaking out when she rode the roller coaster, but he made it ok too.

First time fishing

Kaitlynn got to go fishing for the first time on June 30th in Grand Lake, Colorado. Pappa Hap and Grandma Rosie bought her a Scooby Doo fishing pole last summer (I couldn't talk her into getting the Barbie one - go figure) and this was the first time that she got to use it. We were at a pay pond and she reeled in 2 fish! She was scared of them once they got out of the water, but she had fun.

Team Super Women

My friends, Rochelle and Sherry, and I were on a relay team in the Tri for the Cure. We completed a triathlon consisted of me swimming 1/2 mile in Cherry Creek Reservoir, Sherry riding a bike 12.4 miles, and Rochelle running 3.5 miles. We finished overall 1574 out of about 3000 participants with a time of 1:51:42! I was so afraid that I was going to drown! But we all did great!!! We were so proud!

My first blog

Well, after reading and keeping up with Amanda, Jamie and Carter... I thought that this might be a good idea for me to do as well. Kaitlynn is growing up so fast and time flies so it is hard to keep up with everyone on what is going on with us... so here it goes!
