Well, after many asking about me returning to school... I thought that I would give a little information about my career changes. After Mom passed away last year, I decided to go back to school to finish my teaching license. I only had 1 semester to finish and then student teaching.... so I did! I started school up again last fall and continued working at Platte Valley youth detention full time until mid-October when they wanted to change my schedule that conflicted with school.
This spring semester I student taught at an Elementary school near our home. I taught in a 4th grade classroom and realized that I really enjoyed that grade and hope to teach it in the future. I finished student teaching and am now looking for a teaching job close to home. I have been offered a teaching position at a charter school in Denver, but I am hoping that one closer to home will surface (but at least I have a job this fall!)
Now I have my master's to look forward to in the future. We'll see. I am just glad to be finished with this!

Kaitlynn's 5th Birthday

Kaitlynn turned 5 years old on April 8th. I can't believe that she is 5 already. She (again) had 2 parties. We first went to Chuck E Cheese (annual tradition - although that might stop after this year). It is a family get-together that she loves so much.

I love this hat. Grandma got it for her. She is just too cute! Then she had a princess party with 5 of her friends. The girls made crowns, watched a movie, and played.

Visit to Colorado Springs
In April, my best friend, Sherry Saunders, graduated from college after many, many hard years of studying her butt off. Scott, Kaitlynn and I went down for her graduation and stayed the night in the Springs.

We went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and had lots of fun there! The giraffe exhibit is amazing and the animals were very fun to watch.

Sherry graduated Magna Cum Laude (or however that is spelled - it is obvious that I didn't graduate with that title!) from Colorado Tech University. We were all so proud of her!

Christmas 2007
I know, I know. I am more than a few blogs behind. I will do a quick catch up for everyone since I have been a total slacker.

Here are some pictures from Christmas of 2007. Kaitlynn enjoyed time with her cousin, Derek. She also was able to go to the Disney on Ice Princess show and then My Little Pony Live on stage. Pretty lucky girl.
I had broken my foot before Thanksgiving, Scott got pneunomia mid-December and then Kaitlynn got it Christmas Eve. She had a fever of 106! She was ok, no hospital, but Christmas was not the most fun.
